Midwifery Care
Midwives provide comprehensive care around the time of pregnancy and childbirth. Midwives are experts in normal, natural birth. They seek not to interfere with the natural process, but to support and respect it.
As a South Carolina licensed midwife, I subscribe to the Midwives Model of Care. I provide prenatal care, birth in a home setting, and postpartum/neonatal care. I have experience with water birth and believe it is an option for most births. I can tailor my care to your preference. Some mothers want their midwife to sit in the corner and not interfere unless absolutely necessary; others want more hands-on attention. I am comfortable doing things “your way,” as long as you can agree with me on standards for maintaining safety of both you and your baby during the birth process.
